It is never wasteful to order 3 tests to find out 1 disease. However, many claim that "1/3 of healthcare is wasted". If organizations such as Consumer Reports wish to maintain neutrality they should stop association with Choosing Wisely, a biased organization that cares more about cost reduction than patient health. If a patient has health issues and can afford a procedure, test, or treatment, why should another organization put great pressure on the doctor and patient to not achieve the best possible medical result? The biggest problem isn't over-testing, but under-curing.
